After the attempt to add tax to calls longer than 3mins, the price of data plans was tried to be increased which the Nigeria Senate intervened, now MTN is urging the FG Government to ban Whatsapp in Nigeria for some reasons I will be explaining below. For me, their reasons are stale and meaningless to my ears.
Yesterday the MTN Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ferdinend Moolman advised the Federal Government of Nigeria to take a negative action on the World's most used Instant messaging app. This action was to ban Whatsapp totally in Nigeria.
He also added that the activities on Whatsapp, Viber had a negative effect on telecommunications companies in Nigeria. He said that these companies (Whatsapp, Viber) where eroding gains meant for them. This action was taken in The United Arab Emirates he said.
Making snapchat calls in UAE can land you in jail for those that want to know more.
What's wrong with this MTN sef?. Come to think of it, don’t you think they were behind the increase in the prices of data plans? Hmmm
