iOS 10 is here and it brings with it some really new cool features. The new firmware has made some enhancements to iMessage too. Some really new exciting features have been added to iMessage. Let’s take a look at them.
1. Link Preview
Copy the link to a web page and paste it in iMessage; you will now be able to see the title of the page, the name of the website and of course the preview image in the chat window. But, that is not it. Let’s say you are sharing a video link from YouTube or any other video portal the receiver will be able to play the video directly off the chat window. This means that iMessage will not redirect you to the YouTube app or the Safari browser.
2. Doodle in iMessage
If you have upgraded to the iOS 10, you can have more fun with iMessage than you may know. For instance, you can doodle directly into the chat window of iMessage now. All you need to do is tilt the phone sideways a bit and you will see the drawing keyboard. It will also show the drawing space. You can draw anything you want using your fingers. You can even write a message in your handwriting. Isn’t it cool? It is true that most of the times you will find typing more convenient than dragging your finger over the screen. However, sometimes you may want to have some fun and surprise your friend with a special, handwritten message.
3. Play the games from iMessage
Alright, with iOS 10, you can now play some cool games within the iMessage app. There is an App Store button at the bottom of the iMessage chat window. When you tap on it, you can see all the games you can play within iMessage. You will first need to download the game from the store. Once you have done that, you will want to invite the others to play the game with. You can launch a game from within the app. The game will ask you to send the invitations to the others. So, simply send the invitation to the friend who is willing to play the game with you. There are some really cool games out there to be played. But, you won’t get these features with iMessage PC version.
4. You can send reactions and stickers
Now you can react to an individual message on iMessage. In order to do so, simply press and hold on that message. You will see a pop-up with different reactions (there are total six as of now). It has been found that reactions can be more effective in expressing certain emotions than the words.
Stickers are also new to the iMessage with iOS10. The sticker packages can be downloaded from the App Store. A lot of packages are available for free. However, many of them are paid as well. Once you have downloaded a sticker package, it will sync with your messages automatically.
iOS 10 has also introduced some animation effects. However, they don’t look as exciting as the other new features.
